SEARCHING

Srvalync has very powerful search capabilities. You may use virtually any field or any combination of fields to find the data you need with minimum available information. Even the most complicated searches in large databases take only seconds because of the sophisticated indexing mechanism used by SRVAlync.

Some of the search features are:

Use of “wildcard” character

Using the asterisk (*) “wildcard” character gives you powerful capabilities to search for an item using only a few characters. For example, entering “den*” in the Client Name field would return Clients whose name begins with “Den” (Dennis, Denny, Denison, etc.). You may use multiple wildcards in the search criteria (e.g., “*ryland sub*” would return “Ryland Subdivision”, “Paul Ryland Subdivision”, “Ryland Sub 45”, etc.).

“Helper” dialog

For more complex searches involving from-to ranges, a series of items, greater than, less than, and/or, etc., a “helper” dialog appears when you type an equal sign “=” in a field. This dialog greatly simplifies entry of search criteria allowing you to enter complicated criteria with a few key stokes and mouse clicks.

Drop-down lists show all results

Once the search has been completed, field drop-down lists show all records found by the search.

Simply clicking on a list item retrieves all data for that item

Simply clicking on the item of interest in the drop-down list showing the records found by a search, causes the form to update with all of the information relating to the item of interest.

Convenient “restore criteria” features

A convenient feature is the “restore criteria” function. After a search is complete, if you wish to initiate a new search with just some modification to the previous search clicking the “restore search criteria” button blanks the form and “rewrites” your original criteria for quick modification.
